Lore aside I personally hated how we are required to If I had my druthers you pick your race then start with the other faction at hostile I think it is? w/e is right below neutral. (eg. Orcs would be hostile with alliance) There be some cross faction factions like booty bay where if you got rep with them it give you a smaller amount of alliance and horde rep (say 1 BB rep also .25 horde and ally shrug idk) Allowing you to gain rep with both sides.
Anub The whole Naxxramas instance. It a little murky, but lorewise they had Darion go in and kill/free his father while killing a bunch of the bosses in the process, but they all back in the new Naxxramas, save for Baron Rivendare taking Mograine place. Note that Rivendare had previously been killed in Undead Stratholme..
